Licensing Model
Structured Licensing for Structured Manufacturing
x4Trace is licensed as a production execution platform designed for deterministic manufacturing environments.
The licensing model reflects production architecture — not user counts.
Official Licensing & Download Portal
The x4Trace Licensing Portal serves as the central access point for:
- License activation
- Trial license requests
- Production license management
- Software downloads
All license types use the same execution engine.
A trial license is technically identical to a production license,
with the only difference being a defined expiration period.
Server-Based Licensing
x4Trace licensing is based on the server instance.
A valid server license includes:
- Full access to the execution engine
- Flow definition and deployment capability
- Product-centric trace data model
- Validation and routing logic
- Hardware driver framework
- ERP integration interfaces
- Reporting capabilities
The license applies to the server environment where production logic is executed.
Unlimited Clients & Terminals
Client applications and operator terminals do not require separate licenses.
There are:
- No per-user fees
- No per-terminal fees
- No client-side license limitations
Operator stations, engineering clients, and terminal interfaces may be deployed in unlimited numbers within the licensed server environment.
This ensures predictable scalability without incremental licensing complexity.
Deployment Scope
Licensing scope may vary depending on:
- Number of production servers
- Single-line or multi-line architecture
- Centralized or distributed deployments
- Hardware integration complexity
Each production server requires its own license.
Licenses are aligned with operational architecture — not with individual users.
Driver Integration
The licensing model supports:
- Standard hardware drivers
- Custom driver development
- Partner-developed driver modules
Driver architecture remains modular and fully integrated with the validation engine.
AI Connector (Optional Extension)
The Tracy Server AI Connector is licensed separately.
This optional component enables:
- Structured log export for AI analysis
- Pattern detection workflows
- Advanced analytical integration
AI services themselves are not included in the x4Trace license and remain subject to third-party provider terms.
Support & Updates
Licensing may include:
- Software updates
- Technical support
- Documentation access
- Forum participation
Support scope may vary depending on deployment agreements and partner involvement.
Partner-Based Licensing
For system integrators and automation partners:
- License resale is supported
- Implementation services remain partner-driven
- Custom driver development may be delivered through collaboration
x4Trace enables integrators to build complete manufacturing solutions without recurring per-user licensing complexity.
What the License Does Not Include
For clarity, the license does not include:
- Hardware devices
- Third-party AI services
- ERP system licenses
- External automation infrastructure
x4Trace operates as a structured execution layer within existing manufacturing ecosystems.
Licensing Philosophy
The x4Trace licensing model reflects the platform’s architecture:
- Server-based
- Deployment-oriented
- Scalable without user-based fees
- Integration-aware
We do not license screens.
